Le parcours de Georg Friedrich Haendel est particuli\u00e8rement \u00e9loquent: n\u00e9 en Allemagne, il devient un compositeur au rayonnement europ\u00e9en en imposant ses op\u00e9ras et oratorios \u00e0 Londres. Les airs d\u2019Ariodante, de Semele et de Rinaldo montrent \u00e0 quel point la virtuosit\u00e9 vocale \u00e9tait appr\u00e9ci\u00e9e ; le public se bousculait pour applaudir la prima-donna du moment, au caract\u00e8re souvent bien tremp\u00e9. \u00c0 Venise, Antonio Vivaldi compose de tr\u00e8s nombreux concertos dans lesquels se font entendre des effets d\u2019\u00e9cho et de profondeur caract\u00e9ristiques du style baroque.
